Welcome to the Port
Macquarie Golf Club. Your attendance to the club is very much
appreciated. Here is information on a number of Club procedures,
which will be of interest to you. This page will reinforce what
has been said and will be a convenient future reference medium.
Playing
Membership
Full playing male membership,
country membership, junior male membership and student memberships
are currently closed. All ladies memberships and Weekday Gent
Memberships are open. Refer to Club
for more information.
Competitions
1. Saturdays Men’s competition
2. Sundays Mixed / Medley events
3. Thursdays Men’s competition
4. Tuesdays Veterans (Age 55 & over)
5. Wednesdays Ladies competition
6. Fridays Ladies competition
7. Social Golf Most days after competition fields have crossed
over –approx 3pm.
Time Sheets
Competition time sheets are located in foyer area near the Pro
Shop. Reserve/Cancellation lists are located on the bench.
A box is put out each Thursday and Saturday morning in which you
place your time slip with your name, badge number and preferred
time for the game in two- (2) week’s time. Time sheets go
out two weeks in advance. The box remains there until 6.00pm.
Handicaps
New members transferring from another affiliated Golf Club must
produce handicap records from previous club. If handicap is
current, member may play in competitions.
Competition
Description
Current entry fee is $10.00 (including GST) – payable at Pro
Shop at least 15 minutes prior to your hit off time.
Fees include ball competition. Should
you happen to be a winner you are requested to be present at trophy
presentation time approximately 5.30pm on day of play.
All men’s competition
play is from white markers (ladies from red markers). Please remember
the fundamental points of golf etiquette, namely: -
· Repair divots
– place, carry and use sand buckets
· Smooth bunkers
after playing shot
· Repair pitch
marks on greens
· Play and walk
between shots as quickly as possible – you must keep up
to the group ahead of you
· Please read
and take note of ‘slow play’ and ‘etiquette’
sections of the Program book.
Golf
Shoes
In order to maintain the high quality of our greens it is club
preference that metal spikes are not to be worn.
Program
Book
You will receive a copy of the program book, in which is included,
dates and types of all club competitions as well as Association
events. The program book includes other important information.
Social
Play
Before commencing social play you are required to report to the
Pro Shop and pay the appropriate fee - currently $2.20 member's
rate (including GST).
Practice
Tees
Before commencing on the practice tees you are required to report
to the Pro Shop.
Guests
You are encouraged to introduce guests to the Clubhouse, but please
ensure you enter their names in the visitor’s book and sign
it. This is a requirement of the Liquor Administration Board.
Children under 18 years of age are allowed in the Caddy Shack
Café and the Seaview Lounge.
Dress
Dress rules are set out in the foyer of the Clubhouse and in the
Program book.
Bar
Hours are displayed in the Clubhouse. Discount prices are available
on bulk sales of ales, wines and spirits. Our prices are competitive.
Please support your Club.
Café
Café is open every day (closed monday evenings). $8.50, 2
course lunch available 7 days a week. On Tuesday and Wednesday
nights enjoy our 2 course $12 dinner. Bookings are preferable
and can be made direct on 6582 7117. We hope you will make use
of this facility and we extend our welcome to your family and
friends.
Friday
Nights
Friday night is the main social occasion at the Club and includes
monster meat raffles varying sometimes to seafood or vegetable
raffles as well. Our lucky members draw (minimum $2000.00) is
drawn after the raffles but YOU MUST BE IN THE CLUB TO BE ELIGIBLE
TO CLAIM THE PRIZE should your number be drawn. Bring your friends
along and enjoy the evening.
Club
Professional
The professional has a well-equipped golf shop with golf clubs,
buggies and clothing available at competitive prices. The Pro
is available for lessons by appointment.
Questions
If you should have any queries in relation to the Club or have
any questions please see our friendly Office staff.
Election
to Membership
Your application for membership will be recommended to the Board
of Directors at its next monthly meeting. After which you will
receive official notification from the General Manager.
Privacy
Statement
On December 21
2001, new provisions in the Privacy Act 1988 (the Act) came into
effect. The personal information provided by you on this application
will be used to process your application. Failure to provide all
the requested information may result in your application being
rejected. You have a right to access and correct any information
that the Club holds about you.
The Club does not usually
disclose your personal information to any other organization or
person unless there is a legal requirement to do so. The Club
may disclose your information to third parties that provide services
under contract to the Club. These contracts require the third
party to keep your personal information confidential and secure.
Your personal information,
including information about you obtained as a result of you placing
your membership card in a aming or other Club machine (not ATM’s),
may be used by the Club for marketing purposes to improve our
services and to provide you with the latest information about
those services and any new related services and promotions.
